Students honor Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

In honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, members of Mount Tahoma High School’s Tautua Pasifika Club shared how they feel about their culture and why it’s important to maintain their cultural identity.

They are deeply proud of their resiliency, their discipline and their focus on caring for each other and holding each other accountable.

The Tautua Pasifika Club itself gives students a space to identify who they are and share in learning some of the traditional parts of their culture, including song and dance.

Watch what these students have to say.
