Meeker community comes together to scare hunger
food donations on carts

Meeker Middle School students, staff, and community members collected hundreds of food items and more than $1,000 in donations for the Northeast Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition to help ensure students at Browns Point, Northeast Tacoma, Crescent Heights, Meeker Middle School, and Stadium High School have food over the weekends.

"The ASB team does a We Scare Hunger food drive every October," Meeker Principal Patrick Kjack said. He matched staff donations and said increasing food costs have resulted in more families needing additional resources and support.

Meeker staff member Amber Dean, helped organize the drive and said, “I hate the thought of anyone going hungry and just wanted to make a difference.”

Way to go, Wolverines!
