Bell Schedules

For safety reasons, students should not arrive at school prior to 7:25 AM unless they are participating in a scheduled, supervised classroom activity. All students need to enter through the Commons doors and will be released to classes at 7:30 AM. 

The office staff will not let students in through the front door unless previous discussed. 

Classes begin promptly at 7:40 AM.

All students must be off campus or in a supervised after-school activity before the last bell at 2:20 PM.

Free Meals for 2024-2025

For the 2024-2025 school year, all Tacoma Public Schools students will receive free breakfast and lunch. Students who would previously qualify for fee waivers or extra assistance via our Free or Reduced-Price Meal Application process will now be identified through the Household Information Survey. This survey will be available on the district's website soon. It is important to complete this survey if you would be eligible for financial assistance. Please contact Mrs. Kinney in the Main Office to make financial arrangements for any school-related fees.

After School Activity Bus

Meeker will have 2 After-School Activity buses for students who will be staying after school.  One bus heads toward Browns Point Elementary and the other one heads toward Northeast Tacoma Elementary.

If your student will be ABSENT (full or part-day), please email MeekerAttendance@tacoma.k12.wa.us to let us know:

• Student name
• Student ID # (if you have it)
• Reason for absence
• Time of arrival or time of early dismissal

Please report this information to the front office as soon as possible.  If you need to pick up missed homework, please email your student’s teachers directly.

Medications at School

If your student needs to take medication at school, including over-the-counter medication, you and your student’s doctor must sign a permission form that will remain on file in the Health Room. The medication must be in its original container. If it is a prescription, it must have your student’s name and current orders/instructions on the label. The medication must be brought to the Health Room by a parent or guardian. If the medication is for a life-threatening condition, the medication and current doctor’s orders must be in the Health Room prior to the first day of school. Please contact Nurse Pratt to make arrangements. For more information about Health and Wellness, please visit the district’s website.

Health History Update & Immunization Records

You may need to bring in an updated immunization record if your student is in 6th or 7th Grade - 11 year olds / 7th Graders are required to have the Tdap immunization before starting school.

We will also need a Student Health History Update Form - This is required for 6th graders to give this to our nurse prior to the start of school if you haven't already.

If for any reason a student’s telephone number or address changes, even temporarily, please email the Guidance Office at MeekerRecords@tacoma.k12.wa.us. Meeker Middle School must have current information for emergency purposes.

Our Office Coordinator, Mrs. Kinney, can take in-person payments, and families can now pay online through the Family App or ParentVUE. Log into the TPS Family App or ParentVUE and register for MySchoolBucks. Through MySchoolBucks, you’ll be able to purchase ASB membership for $15. Just a single login is needed for all your TPS students.

ASB membership is required for all students participating in clubs, activities, or athletics and it will provide free admission to regular season athletic contests and reduced admission to other ASB activities. Students will receive one complimentary ID card, and replacement ID cards can be purchased for $5.

Meeker InvestEd Donations

When you log in to MySchoolBucks through the Family App to make payments for Meeker items, you will now have the opportunity to donate to Meeker’s InvestED account. InvestED provides funding to secondary schools throughout Washington State. Through InvestED, we can provide opportunities for all students to be involved in school without financial barriers. InvestED will match our donations dollar for dollar up to $500/year. If this is something you’ve been considering, please support us in providing equitable access to all Meeker has to offer.
